Who are you?

Jordan Shields, freelance photographer.

What do you do?

I take photos of live music, the social scene, anything really. Can’t say I’ve ever turned a job down.

What have you done?

I’ve shot most of the music festivals held in Western Australia in the last year. I’m a weekly contributor for The WiRE, a music magazine in each Thursday’s West Australian Newspaper, I’ve also contributed to Drum, Xpress, Cut & Paste DVD and MD Limited Editions Magazine. I also work for different promoters around Perth, such as Shape Bar, Knowledge Music, Destination?, Boomtick, The Bump and Filthy Gorgeous, covering the social scene and doing media servicing for the social pages.

What are you going to do?

I am keen to get into photo-journalism, ideally I’d like to be shooting for an agency, but my interests also lie in editorial work and band promo.

Any last words?

I’m really glad I decided to make a go of my photography career. Being stuck in a 9-5, regardless of pay is no life.
