Panther vs Zombie

This exhillerating post mixed with this topper at The Worst of Perth, lead to an IMBD search for feature films shot in WA.

Surprisingly, there are some.

So in tribute we will be starting a regular feature here, calling attention to all the wonderful films shot in Perth that you would need a VHS player and a time machine to see, beginning with DAY OF THE PANTHER and ZOMBIE BRIGADE. Juicy tidbits available at the TWOP links above. Click the poster for the IMDB page.

An enthusastic reviewer at IMDB calls it “a masterpiece of Shakesperian proportions” but really the tagline, seemingly written by an ESL student, says it all. Revenge is in his heart. Panther in his blood.

This not only has zombies but vampires AND Japanese developers, who want to honor “their comic book hero Robot Man” by building a theme park on a cemetary for veterans. Check out an interview with the director here, and find out why critics are calling this one a “tolerable, cheap, Australian horror flick“.

If anyone can locate copies of these you gots to let us know.
